Your soft landing this season.

'Tis the season for gatherings, gift-giving, and end-of-year obligations.

It's all too easy to forget the most important person to care for this season: YOU!

In the season of giving, it's equally important to receive.

Because after all, you can't pour from an empty cup.

Why winter asks you to rest

Winter is the season of stillness and return. It's nature's reminder that rest isn't the absence of growth. It's where growth begins.

Like me, you've probably spent winters frustrated, trying to show up with the same capacity as summer. Pushing to "close out the year consistent" or "start the New Year strong." I'm here to tell you that's all a bunch of hocus pocus!

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, winter belongs to the Water element. Summer was all about action (been there, done that!). Winter is the season for drawing energy inward and building your reserves for spring and summer.

But here's the thing: rest requires practice.

(Especially in a world that asks us to be "on" all the time.)

Consider this your soft landing this season.

A chance to close the year with intention, not overwhelm.
A moment just for you to welcome winter feeling well.

What's Included:

As we approach the longest night of the year, we'll gather in ceremony to practice rest together. Nothing to fix. Nothing to achieve. Yin yoga and an immersive sound bath invite your nervous system into a deep state of safety. From there, clarity and insight rise naturally for reflection.

  • 90 minutes of yin yoga. Long-held, deeply supported postures that calm the nervous system and nourish the body's connective tissue.
  • An immersive sound bath. Let layered tones wash over you as you rest in stillness and drop into a deeper state of ease.
  • Seasonal reflection. A guided practice to honor the year behind you and set a quiet intention for the light ahead.
  • A warm cup of tea in community. We close together with a seasonal tea blend and time to connect with the people sharing this night with you.

Words from past ceremonies:

"If you want to feel refreshed, have your cup filled with love and feel fully supported, Talon's events are for you."

-Lisa C.

"I went into this experience not knowing if it would be helpful or not, and by the end I would say there was nothing more valuable for me than a seasonal reset."

-Jack

"Extremely restorative. The sound bath part of the event was divine! Really recharging and relaxing. I was able to truly rest and cleanse my mind, body, and spirit for the upcoming season."

-PLL

"This experience was extremely eye opening for me because while I know I’ve needed to slow down and be more intentional, this experience validated that. It also proved to me that I can slow down and be more intentional, I just need to practice it more to quiet my mind."

-Courtney

"I’m thirsty for more. I learn so much from Talon every time she leads. Her words always land right where they are needed most."

-Maria

Meet Your Guide

I'm Talon, a third-generation Colorado native raised by a single mom who taught me grit, resilience, and how to keep going. For years, keep going was all I knew. I spent my corporate IT career excelling at "doing it all," pushing through every season like it was summer.

Until I started asking myself: Is this aligned, or am I just going through the motions?

Yoga philosophy and Traditional Chinese Medicine gave me a different answer. Nature doesn't bloom all year. It rests, restores, and returns. Learning to live by those rhythms (winter's stillness included) changed how I practice, teach, and live.

Today I'm a Denver-based, E-RYT 600 certified yoga teacher with over a decade of teaching experience, 14 years as a student, and 5,000+ classes under my belt. This ceremony is the practice I wish I'd had back then: permission to rest, and the tools to actually do it.

A Winter Solstice ceremony is an intentional gathering held around the longest night of the year to honor rest, reflection, and the return of the light. This Denver ceremony combines yin yoga, an immersive sound bath, guided seasonal reflection, and tea in community.

The 2026 Winter Solstice falls on Monday, December 21. This ceremony takes place on Saturday, December 19th from 4–7 PM at The River Yoga Sunnyside in Denver.

No. Yin yoga is slow, supported, and accessible to all levels. Every posture can be adapted with props and Talon will offer options.

Yin yoga is a slow, meditative style of yoga where postures are held for several minutes. It targets the body's connective tissue and helps calm the nervous system, making it an ideal practice for the winter season.

A sound bath is a deeply relaxing experience where you rest while instruments like singing bowls and gongs create layered, resonant tones. Many people describe feeling calm, clear, and deeply rested afterward.

The Winter Solstice Ceremony is 3 hours, including 90 minutes of yin yoga, an immersive sound bath, guided reflection, and tea in community.

Wear comfortable layers and warm socks. Bring your yoga mat, a journal + pen, mug for tea, and an optional eye cover. Mat can be provided, if needed.
